So August has been a bit of an odd one, lots of sun, lots of rain, lots of new products to try but not many empties. Here’s what I’ve managed to gather for you to feed your thirst for beauty information!
Bumble & Bumble Straight Shampoo & Conditioner (samples)
I have to say that I really can’t remember where I got these samples from. I found them in amongst some blogging papers the other day and thought I’d give them a try.
The Bumble & Bumble Straight Shampoo is sulfate-free and designed to smooth, reduce frizz, and makes hair more manageable. It features a rare gemstone blend that loosens hair’s natural curves. You just need to add heat.
The Bumble & Bumble Straight Conditioner is a light conditioner that helps manage unruly hair and calm curls and frizz. It also adds shine.
As I tried both of these from sachets I didn’t really get the opportunity to try them properly. There’s never enough product in a sachet is there? Anyway, I did find that they worked well together and I found them generally smoothing. I do think that my hair needs a little more than a light conditioner though at the moment, probably a mask would be more suitable for me.
You can buy them both here, the shampoo is £23 and the conditioner is £25. Both bottles are 250ml.
Cien Orange & Bergamot Handwash
I’m kicking myself that I didn’t photograph this before I threw the empty away. This handwash is such a bargain at 99p or thereabouts from Lidl. I usually treat myself to the best handwash that I can afford but sometimes, when there is too much month left at the end of my pay I need to economise. I’m not ashamed to buy good quality meat and wine from Lidl so why shouldn’t I buy toiletries when they smell as gorgeous as this. Give it a try and you may be so surprised
This is another budget brand. I suppose you might consider it to be old-fashioned, and I expect the brand would refer to themselves as a heritage brand. I think that a lot of people my age would remember the bars of imperial leather soap that we used to have. I dare say you can still buy them but it’s been many years since I’ve bought a bar of soap. Anyway, I digress, this body wash smells divine and is rich and creamy and only 99p in most supermarkets. I say save on shower gel and splurge on cosmetics!
Again these were samples and there was so little in each of the shampoo and conditioner sachets that I needed to add to them from other brands to get enough product on my hair so it was hard to assess them. However, the mask, pictured above was different. The small amount in the sachet was sufficient to cover my mid-length hair. It moisturised my porous over treated and coloured hair and made it feel so good!
“Nanokeratin System RePlenish Colour Preserving Mask provides intense conditioning, balances and restores hair’s optimum moisture levels and smoothness, protecting your coloured locks from fading. Amino acids and antioxidants detoxify and detangle colour-treated hair to reduce breakage, frizz and to maintain your salon-perfect blow-dry.”
The 500ml costs £52.00 but they say that it will give you 50 treatments.
