Empties – May 2017

Another bin full of beauty empties this month! First up is a trial size from one of the skincarem brands that’s really making me sit up and take notice it’s Murad’s Rapid Collagen Infusion.  I found this in a goodie bag from a House of Fraser customer event and it was the perfect excuse to try another Murad product. (I first tried out the Hydrodynamic Ultimate Moisture last year and reviewed it here.)

Murad Age Reform

Caudalie Resveratrol Lift is a cashmere-soft firming cream with hyaluronic acid. We all like a bit of hyaluronic for moisture and this is a great light day cream that works. Here’s where I’ve reviewed it.

Reseed Gingko & Sabal Fortifying Shampoo & Wheatbran Ultra-Volume Conditioner are designed to boost hair strength and prevent hair loss. I came by them in a goodie bag and don’t suffer from hair loss but I’m one of those people who use up products I have before spending on more where I can so when I ran out of shampoo and conditioner I used these two.

The shampoo has essential pro-vitamins and minerals and active ingredients to cleanse substances that can block hair follicles and restore structural fibres and increase density.

The conditioner’s formula is designed to densify thin, damaged, or dry hair. It’s enriched with herbal proteins to strengthen roots and contains UV filters and colour-protecting pomegranate extract.

I found that these Reseed products left my hair feeling healthy and glossy but I’m not certain that I’d repurchase them, mainly because there are probably other ranges that are more targeted at my hair needs.

Verso Hand Serum & Verso Foaming Cleanser are part of a stunning Swedish skincare range. All the details are here in my review – be prepared to invest some of your hard-earned pennies as this is an aspirational brand. The hand serum is the best I’ve ever tried – I need it back in my life!

If you follow my blog and social media platforms consistently then you can’t have failed to notice that I’m a fan of the Japanese brand DHC. Their Olive Body Butter has been a delight and I’ve been using it every day particularly to keep my legs moisturised (hate dry flaky shins!) There are more details here.

Swell Ultimate Volume Shampoo is the first step in the Swell 3 Step System to bring volume and growth to fine, limp & thinning hair. My hair doesn’t really need volume, it needs body but I found that by using this shampoo and conditioner and then adding a serum to reduce fluffiness I got the desired result. There are more details on the brand and my thoughts here.

I like to have a three-stage cleansing routine (two in the morning) and cream or foam wash applied with a muslin cloth or flannel is usually my first stage. This Balance Active Formula Skin Brightening Cream Wash is the perfect example of what works for me at the budget end of the skincare spectrum.

I already have more empties to write about – I know this round has been a bit late – I’m struggling to keep up with so much new to write about as well but I promise to work harder to keep you all informed! Hope you found something interesting here – do let me know.

Hope you are all enjoying the summer weather.
