I’ve previously written about being a fan of on-line beauty retailer Beauty Expert and how I tried out iconic products that I’d always wanted to try. This time around I’ve been discovering a whole bunch of products that are great for skin health and beauty both inside and out. There are just so many amazing brands out there that do great skin care that it’s hard to keep up with them all to discover what’s right for you and at this time of year we do need to protect as well as perfect. Beauty Expert carefully curate, collate, and inform about skincare and health in their Skin Health Matters campaign and in this post I’m be covering some of the products I found there from Gatineau, Filorga, Ingenious Beauty, Aurelia, REN, Imedeen and Pai.
Gatineau DefiLIFT 3D™ Perfect Design Cream: Gatineau describe this as an architect for your face. Designed to work visibly to smooth the skin for a taut appearance its enriched with Volulift to helps redensify your features and deliver an immediate tension 3D lift effect.
I was so intrigued to try this out of all the products, as when I mentioned it to Tracey McAlpine she remarked on its unusual texture whilst telling me that she loved the effects. It is a little hard to describe the texture to be fair. Perhaps a little butter like?Anyway, I’m loving it and continuing to use it daily after an initial trial period as it has the instant lifting effect I love as well as longer term benefits.
Filorga Skin-Absolute Day Cream: Filorga is a brand that’s only been on the periphery of my beauty world up till now. It’s definitely high-end with understated packaging. But I’ve been trialling, and again am continuing to use this rejuvenating, radiance-renewing formula that works to revitalise, repair and deliver intense, long-lasting hydration.
It contains anti-ageing Extremozymes® and Photolyase (an enzyme activated by daylight) to transform UV rays into energy to help minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Also in there are white sapphire to combat dullness and uneven skin tone and ever popular hyaluronic acid to plump and moisturise. I’ve been using this in the day and the Gatineau Defi Lift at night and they’re a great combination!
Ingenious Beauty Ultimate Collagen+ Skincare Supplement: This has been formulated to replenish collagen and hyaluronic acid in the body and to combat skin damage caused by sunlight and environmental pollution. It contains three natural ingredients:
- Marine Collagen Peptide – to repair skin structure, reduce wrinkles and bind moisture to retain elasticity.
- Hyaluronic Acid – to slows down trans-epidermal water and maintain hydration.
- Astaxanthin – to reverse UV damage and reduce the negative effects of UVA rays.
Clinical tests have shown a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines within 10-20 days and an improvement by 26% in 40 days. It promises improved skin radiance, overall vitality and benefits for hair, lips and nails.
Now here’s the bit where I’m supposed to tell you how it’s worked out for me and I’m afraid I’ve failed on this. I just keep forgetting to take them! I’ve tried having them in the kitchen, on the bedside table and in the bathroom hoping that I’ll remember to fit them into my night-time routine but it just doesn’t work. I take other medication in the morning and remember that but with this product you need to take it preferably at night and on an empty stomach for best effects. I promise to try harder and come back with an update if I succeed!
Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Cleanser: This was one of the products that I was most excited to try as I’m just learning about the brand. It’s a creamy consistency that feels cooling and comforting on the skin that works remove and promote natural luminosity.
It’s got a lovely aroma and ingredients include shea and cocoa butters, kigelia africana fruit extract, hibiscus flower, baobab, vitamin C and ubuntu mongongo, rosemary, bergamot, chamomile and eucalyptus oils.
The full size product (mine was travel size) comes with an antibacterial bamboo muslin cloth and the combination of this with the cleanser gives a gentle exfoliating effect. I’ve loved it so much that I’ve used it each day since I opened it as a first cleanse to lift away make-up and it will be featuring again on my October empties post.
So this has been a pretty long post hasn’t it – so thanks for sticking with me this far. This last product is from Pai, another of those brands that I’ve been meaning to try for an age. This is the Pai Kukui & Jojoba Skin Brightening Exfoliator and it’s the type of exfoliator that I’d describe as a scrub. It’s a gel formula that turns into a milk as you apply water and it’s a real wow moment! It has micro spheres of jojoba that deflake your skin and remove dirt and excess oil to unclog the pores. It also has omega 3 and 6, kukui oil, vitamins A, D, & E, and is suitable for sensitive skin and has a calming comforting effect.
I’ve really loved discovering all these new products and brands with Beauty Expert and really feel that I’m set up for autumn and winter with this skin care wardrobe. How many of them have you tried?
