Empties – December 2018

For my first post of 2019, I’m bringing you the familiar – an empties post. I’m pretty sure that many of you will be looking forward to trying new things and perhaps you’ll discover something here that I used up in December in hair, makeup and skincare categories.

American English 24 Karat Thickening Lotion

American English 24 Karat & Dry Oil

If you’ve read my previous review here you’ll know that this American English 24 Karat Thickening Lotion is one of the best hair care products I’ve tried. If you can get your hands on it you won’t be disappointed.

La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur in Fair/Light

Effaclar BB Blur

Unless you’re a new follower of Strand On Beauty I’d be really surprised if you don’t know that this is my holy grail base product! It’s the La Roche Posay Effaclar BB Blur in Fair/Light. I’ve not found anything like it to perfect my skin in seconds. Here’s where I’ve reviewed it before.

47 Skin Silver Chitosan Regenerative Serum

47 Skin Silver Chitosan Regenerative

I love to find new and different products and this Silver Chitosan Regenerative Serum from 47 Skin was one that I’d not heard about until they approached me with it to trial. so you know how the emptied post works – products just don’t make it here unless I use it up all the way – and that only happens when I really like it and no other new products distract me.

So what so good about this serum? Well, it’s hydrating and firming and I can always do with some of that! It’s infused with the patented ‘Formula 47’ that contains Silver and Chitosan, that uses silver to form a protective and hydrating seal on the skin whilst the chitosan forms a lattice-like structure on which the cells can repair. Fascinating stuff that came about as the result of a scientific experiment that was nothing to do with beauty.

It’s a light formula that you can use night and day. It’s not greasy and absorbs quickly so you can go straight to adding makeup which is exactly what I need ahead of a busy day. It’s a gem!

Caudalie Vinopure Clear Skin Purifying Toner

Caudalie Vinopure

From the Caudalie Vinopure range, (on the right in the picture above) and created to address skin problems this is the Caudalie  Vinopure Purifying Toner. It uses powerful active ingredients that restore and balance skin.

Ingredients include:

  • natural salicylic acid
  • grape-seed polyphenols
  • organic essential oils

Benefits are:

  • immediately improves skin clarity
  • unclogs and tightens pores
  • clears imperfections
  • Leaves skin feeling clean and fresh

Emma Hardie Midas Touch Face Serum

Midas Touch Face Serum

I’ve reviewed this intensely hydrating and firming Midas Touch Face Serum here.  If it’s on your wish list there’s a chance to get this at the sale price of £45 instead of £69, I’m betting you’ll love it! I’ve just run out and I’m rummaging wildly in my skincare drawer to see if I can find something that will match up to it.

Heaven Prism Age Defiance Cream

From the lovely Deborah Mitchell’s Heave range this Heaven Prism Age Defiance Cream comes this innovative product that delivers so many good things all from one product. I’ve reviewed it previously here and you won’t need to take my word on this one as she and her celebrity and royal clients are forever singing it’s praises in the media.

And that’s it for another month.  Some of my all time favourites have hit the dust and I’m already looking forward to bringing you news of the things I’ve been using up in January. Hope 2019 is already bringing you all you hoped for – and if things aren’t as great as they ought to be (you know who you are) hang in there and reach for the stars.
