It’s always interesting for me as a beauty blogger to discover new brands but this time it’s not a make-up or skincare brand but a beauty accessory brand The Vintage Cosmetics Company.
The Vintage Cosmetics Company is a British brand with a gorgeous, quirky 1950s style branding. The products are well made and cover all the beauty essentials you need.
I was lucky enough to get to try out two of the products first hand and I’m loving them. What’s so great about The Vintage Cosmetics Company site and every product is that you get instructions on how to use the product to make your self beautiful!
So my first pick was the Vintage Cosmetic Company Eyelash Curlers. In the past I’ve not had much success with eyelash curlers as I have such short lashes that I always managed to pinch my lid and not curl my lashes at all! A recent makeover showed me that it was possible to make my lashes curl and that’s what prompted me to give it another go .
They say:
“The Vintage Cosmetic Company Eyelash Curlers complete with a spring mechanism for super-fluttery eyelashes, is a make-up bag must-have. Used by top make-up artists and celebrities these Curlers will give you luscious lashes that last. To open and brighten your eyes simply follow our how-to below. We also recommend holding the Curlers under a hairdryer on a low setting for a few seconds. Make sure they’re warm (not hot!) and then curl the lashes. This top tip will help you to produce a better curl. Apply a flick of mascara or The Vintage Cosmetic Company’s Gracie strip lash to finish off the look!”
Tentatively at first, I tried out the curlers and was so pleased with the result. I didn’t pinch myself at all and the easy to use curlers gave me nicely curled lashes which gave me a wide awake look with hardly any effort! If you fancy giving them a go then you can try them for just £7.00 here.
Continuing on the lash them I also picked the Brow and Lash Brush. I often find that my lashes clump together and my eyebrows, sparse as they are still need a little grooming so this seemed to be the ideal companion for the eyelash curler.
They say:
“The cream Brow and Lash Brush from The Vintage Cosmetic Company is multipurpose brush that not only tames unruly brows, but also breaks up clumpy mascara. The hero brush is designed to help you achieve a full, natural look. Use the cream Brow and Lash brush to keep your eyelashes and eyebrows looking natural by brushing away any excess product.”
I’ve been using the brush for the last few days and it’s been working a treat as well as being a great looking addition to my brush collection. This one is available here for £8.00.
I love the whole concept and the retro look so I think I might soon be adding another couple of bits to my collection.
