So, it was a gloomy cold Sunday afternoon and I was feeling like treating myself. Not that I really needed anything, or could afford anything but I think I just needed the shopping experience. After exploring all the local beauty counters I ended up buying this Model Co Shine Ultra Lip Gloss in Striptease. Gorgeous isn’t it!
So where did I find this beauty from the cult brand Model Co? In Sainsbury’s! Well in my July copy of Glamour magazine to be exact! Such a bargain as the magazine is £2 and the retail price of the Model Co Shine Ultra Lip Gloss is £16.
There are four different cosmetic options they are:
Volumeyes Extreme Black mascara (worth £11),
Shine Ultra lip gloss (worth £16),
Eye Define eye pencil in either black or blue (each worth £11).
I hadn’t heard of this brand before. Now I’ve found out that ModelCo has developed award-winning self-tanning, beauty and suncare solutions for over a decade and recently launched a natural skin care collection. Based in Sydney Australia, ModelCo is the creation of former model agent, Shelley Barrett who, after working with models, makeup artists and stylists, saw a niche in the market for innovative, quick-fix, multipurpose beauty solutions.
So what do I think of the lip gloss? I like the shade which is a pretty shimmery nude that’s great for summer. I’ve been wearing a lighter summery look lately with golden shades of eye colour and light coverage foundation or BB cream with a little bronzer instead of blusher for a sun kissed look. This gloss fits in with that vibe. It’s said to not be sticky but to be fair I think that any gloss is a little tacky and it’s likely you’ll get your hair stuck in it on a windy day but it looks great so I can live with that.
What’s more a magazine full of beauty content and features on women of the year and a lip gloss for £2 – what’s not to like?
Have you bought Glamour this month? Which version did you choose?
