Gentle Eye Make-up Remover
This is a cooling eye makeup remover that removes all traces of make-up as well as soothing and hydrating. Ingredients include chamomile, green tea and aloe vera. Instructions for use are to pour onto a cotton wool pad and place over eyelids for 20 seconds before wiping away.
Whilst the product worked as described I’d normally use a cleanser that works for all make up rather than having a separate product for my eyes – I’m also a bit too impatient to wait for the make up to dissolve and prefer to wipe straight away.

Melatogenine Refreshing Cleansing Cream
This cleanser is right up my street and its a 2 in 1 formula that removes all impurities from the face as well as toning and boosting age-defence action. Ingredients include Melatogenine and sweet almond oil. I like to apply this with the dampened double-sided cleansing cloth (smooth side) and then wash off using the textured side. Leaves my skin refreshed – like it says on the tin (well tube!)
Radiance Enhancing Gommage
This is an exfoliator with a gel texture. As you massage into your skin it turns to liquid releasing the enzymes and AHAs and gently lifting off impurities. Instructions are to use this once or twice a week, massaging it into dry skin. You then need to leave it on for a couple of minutes before rinsing off. Again I used the cleansing cloth. It did leave my skin feeling fresher and brighter – but I’m a bit hit and miss at using things regularly – unless it’s to be used every day. That works because I line everything up on my bathroom shelf and just work through it day and night. Must try harder!

Melatogenine Future Plus Mask
This mask contains the well-loved ingredients – collagen and hyaluronic acid. It’s rich and creamy and includes the exclusive molecule Melatogenin. It’s been formulated to rapidly smooth out the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles but also to be so gentle that it is ideal for use around the eyes.
There’s a choice of two ways to use – as you might expect I chose the lazy way which is also best for an intensive treatment – an I applied a thin layer and left it on overnight. For an express treatment you can leave on for 10 minutes and then rinse. You can use 2 or 3 times a week as for the Gommage I’ve not used it regularly but when I do use it my skin feels softened and plumped – lovely!
Melatogenine AOX Advanced Rejuvenating Cream
This one is for regular day and night use – so fits into my routine line up perfectly. It’s designed to boost radiance. It’s a rich luxurious cream that promises to target deep wrinkles and sagging skin – so it’s one for us older folk! AOX probiotics combine antioxidants and probiotics which is what gives you a radiant look and it’s the Melatogenine that aims to keep you looking younger! Instructions are to apply morning and night with upward dabbing motions using your fingertips and I reckon most of us can manage that!
Overall, this was a great introduction to the brand and helped me to understand which products were right for me and that I would use regularly. You can get the Gatineau Beauty Box here for £25 or less.
