If you’re wondering why I haven’t been posting in the last couple of weeks it’s because I’ve been getting a lot of sun in Marrakech! I’m really not used to too much sun, living in the UK, and I burn easily so that’s why I gathered up a whole pile of sun protection products to take with me. And now that I’m back I can give you an update.
Situated in the Palmeraie areas outside of Marrakech the Blue Sea Ryads Parc and Spa offered me up to 12 hours of sunshine by the pool each day with temperatures up to 38 degrees. Here’s a run down of the suncare products that worked for me:
This is the perfect weight to use on your face and with 50+ SPF and a handbag size bottle it’s perfect both poolside and throughout the day.
“Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+ from La Roche-Posay provides very high face sun protection for normal to combination skin. The non-greasy fluid is suitable for use on fair and sensitive skin, helping to prevent the appearance of dark spots caused by the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays.
Its advanced formula contains a combination of Mexoplex, a complex with Mexoryl SX, unique Thermal Spring Water and Mexoryl XL to protect skin cells for a youthful, glowing complexion. The lightweight, water resistant lotion is easy to apply and ideal for men and women that may be exposed to intense sun regularly.”
There’s currently 33% off here.
Also for my face, when I wanted a slightly more made up look away from the pool I used:
I have to admit that I tried this amazing BB cream several times before my holiday. It really made me feel good about how my skin looked. It has a little more coverage than a tinted moisturiser, doesn’t feel greasy and has that whopping SPF50+ I had to make sure I took this with me! My daughter used it too and I still ahve some left for use back in London.
“An easy to apply, luxurious, moisturising, ultra-comfortable and non-greasy texture. Lightly-tinted formula for a light, natural glow. Water resistant. With Mexoplex, Mexoryl XL and Mexoryl SX to provide high broad spectrum sun protection available against the harmful effects of both UVA and UVB rays.”
It’s on offer here too.
This cream is richer than the lotion and I used it on those pleace where I thought I would be most likely to burn – my face, particularly my forehead and my shoulders. It stayed on well even with being in and out of the ppol but of course I reapplied regularly.
“Ensure very high protection for your facial skin with the La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF50+ Comfort Cream. If your skin is allergic or intolerant to the sun, extra protection is needed. This gentle and effective formulation ensures a very high, broad, and photostable UVA/UVB protection with an optimal SPF of 50+. A new filter system comprised of a combination of Mexoryl® SX and XL alongside Senna Alata extract naturally protects the skin’s cells from damage. The emulsion is suitable for even the most sensitive of skin, is non-comedogenic, and is resistant to water. The highly moisturising texture is so comfortable on the skin, with an easy glide formulation that ensures trouble-free application. The complexion feels unburdened and luminous, and it is protected from sunburn and cell damage.”
It’s available here with a third off.
This is the one that we found easiest to apply all over the body and that my daughter used for getting “all oiled up” ahead of a day by the pool. Great mositurising protection and we loved it.
“Very high, broad, photostable UVA/UVB protection. Optimal SPF 50+ protection reinforced against UVA rays (stricter than the European recommendation) thanks to Mexoryl® XL filtering system. A dermatologically tested formula which is adapted for all skin types and is water resistant.”
It’s on offer too here!
There’s just one more product that I really loved using on this hoiday.
It’s not sun protection but I used it to moisturise and soften my skin almost every day I was away and I love it! You can find it here!
I’ve so many more things to tell you about my holiday and products that I’v e ben using but have to concentrate now on getting ready for going back to the office tomorrow.
Have you been trying out any suncare or summer products recently? I’d lvoe to hear about them!
