I’ve not really been a fan of tinted moisturisers in the past, preferring to use my favourite serum, moisturiser, primer and foundation combination to give me a fair bit of coverage. Even though Dermalogica never fails to excel at skin care I wasn’t holding out much hope that I could achieve the look that I wanted from this foray into the cosmetic arena with the Dermalogica Sheer Tint SPF 20.
“Light-diffusing iron oxides provide translucent colour, whilst hydrolysed pearl amino acids, hyalauronic acid and walnut seed extracts help to improve the skin’s texture and reduce the appearance of fine dehydration lines. Free from artificial fragrances and colours, the long-lasting, non-greasy formula is ideal for light, daytime coverage that makes your skin exude a healthy glow with a smooth and even finish.”
Still, I thought I should give it a fair go and decided to try it out on a non-working day so that I wouldn’t give anyone in the office a scare if it didn’t turn out too well. I cleansed and toned as usual (I’m using the Dermalogica Multi Active Toner at the moment), added a slick of serum and then skipped the moisturiser and primer and went straight for the tinted moisturiser. As I squeezed some of the Sheer Tint (in Light) onto the back of my hand I could see that it looked more like a foundation than a moisturiser and so I applied it with a foundation brush. Wow! I should have had more faith in Dermalogica. Instead of it being just a moisturiser with a hint of colour it’s actually works like a light coverage foundation with amazing moisturising qualities. It really has that touchability factor and it gives me a fresh unclogged look. It’s also got SPF20 and with its light diffusing technology and nourishing ingredients I’m in love! Thanks to Dermalogica for showing me that tinted moisturisers can really work!
