This year’s Pegasus Healthy Beauty Forum saw the unveiling of Weleda‘s newest range. It also saw the introduction of 14 new launches from beauty brands including Avene, Trilogy, Dr Organic and Manuka Doctor.
There was also an Insights Forum with industry expert speakers. Sadly I had to miss this session due to the day job but was still excited to see some of my favourites British Beauty Blogger, London Beauty Queen, Nikki Taylor and Tracy McAlpine around the venue.
Walking around the room I got the opportunity to discover and rediscover some great brands and ask the experts questions about their products.
When I spoke to the lady from Weleda she told me about the brand that has been around since 1921. I feel a bit of a fool really as while she was talking to me I kept thinking to myself that I knew Weleda as a hair product and it was only as I left that I realised I’d been thinking about Wella a completely different brand!
Anyway, I did concentrate on what she told me about the new Almond Body Care range that includes hand cream, body lotion, and body wash. The products contain organic almond oil that strengthens the skins barrier function and protects it from drying out. The range is available now, here.
At the Avene stand, I was introduced to the new night-time hero product to outsmart adult acne – TriAcneal EXPERT. Launching in October it will retail at £23.00 and targets blemishes, marks and the first signs of ageing.
I learned so much more about Bio-Oil. Oops, I seem to have got the prosecco in shot and not the Bio-Oil but it’s the message in the picture that’s important. Bio-Oil, (the specialist skincare brand that improves the appearance of scars, stretch marks and more) is sponsoring body confidence performance projects in schools and is reaching out to people across the country to share their body confidence advice. You can share your body philosophy at www.mybodyphilosophy.com Bio-Oil is available here priced £8.99.
Collection is one of my favourite budget makeup brands and if you looked in my makeup bag on any given day you’d find one of their lipsticks or eyeshadows. At the showcase, they presented four professional palettes which we all oohed and ahhed over! They are the #ConcealAndLightLikeaPro palette (8 concealers for £5.99), the #FaceTheDay palette (highlighter, bronzer, blusher and 4 eyeshadows for £5.99), the #BlushAndGlow palette (bronzer, 2 blushers and a highlighter for £4.99) and the #YourStyleYourMood palette (10 shades of nude, brown and plum for £5.99). They’ll be available exclusively in Boots from 14 October.
Dr.Organic launched their new Hair Rescue & Restore range with Organic Natural hemp. I didn’t get the opportunity to chat with them about their brand, but I’ve heard good things about it. The new range, including shampoo, conditioner, hair and scalp treatment and hair mask are available in Holland & Barrett.
Manuka Doctor was represented and launched their new ApiNourish Firm Skin Facial Moisturiser with a formula containing purified bee venom! I’m so tempted to say there was a bit of buzz about this! (sorry!) I’m looking forward to trying it that’s for sure! It’s available in Superdrug and Holland & Barrett priced £29.99.
I was introduced to the Solgar range of nutritional support a golden range of supplements for beauty from the inside out. The range boasts over 300 products but most popular on the beauty from are the Skin, Nails and Hair formula, Hyaluronic Acid Complex, Resveratrol and Biotin. I’m always keen to try supplements but I’m not very good at remembering to take them so don’t ever find out the benefits of taking them regularly. Must try harder this time!

Trilogy, famous for their Organic Rosehip Oil (pictured) introduced the new Make-up Be Gone Cleansing Balm and the Age Proof CoQ10 Booster Oil (available from October 2015). The balm comes complete with an organic cotton cloth. Can’t wait to tell you how I got on with it – but that’s for a future post!
Other great brands represented were Ladival Sun Protection, Lloyd’s Pharmacy’s Pure Essential range, Micronail, Rapid White, Skincere, and Witch Skincare.
I’ll be reviewing many of the products that I discovered at the showcase so do watch out for reviews soon. Have you got any favourites that I’ve written about here? I’d love to hear what you think about them.
