From the moment I started blogging the most talked about palettes were from Urban Decay. Still, surprisingly, it’s been a brand that I’ve had little to do with until now and it’s hit me with a bang!
I can be a contrary type when the mood takes me and so when everyone says that something’s amazing I don’t just take their word for it. I want to see the proof for myself – so that’s why it’s taken so long for me to discover what’s great about Urban Decay.
This Christmas Eve I had a delivery from Urban Decay that contained all kinds of precious stuff. Today I want to tell you about the Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette that came out in November and give you a glimpse of the Gwen Stefani Lipsticks due for release in Spring 2016.
The Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette is a limited edition palette that’s been created by Gwen and the co-founder of Urban Decay Wende Zomnir. Gwen picked 15 shades to make her ideal palette – 12 new ones and three from the existing Urban Decay shadow collection.
It’s a great mix of neutral and glam shades housed in a gorgeous case with a mirror that’s got pride of place in my collection. The shadows are made using Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion system which gives them a rich velvety look and feel with staying power.
Shades swatched with one finger swipe are:
Top Row – Blonde, Bathwater, Skimp, Steady, Punk
Middle Row – Baby, Anaheim, Stark, Zone, Serious
Bottom Row – Pop, Harajuku, Danger, 1987, Blackout
I love this palette – it really fits with my magpie tendencies (especially the bottom row) – it’s like a treasure chest or jewel box. I know you’ll love it. It’s available here for £40.
Tucked into the palette box was a lovely surprise set of samples of the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani lipstick range.
It comes in 8 colours:
Rocksteady, Spiderweb, Wonderland, Firebird and Phone Call are cream formula.
Ex-girlfriend and Plaid are sheer formula.
714 is mega matte.
Samples shown are:
Rocksteady, 714, Ex-girlfriend and Firebird.
Can’t wait to trial the full size products in their shiny cases! I’ll tell you more about them as soon as I hear something. Until then current lip products are here.
Have you got any Urban Decay favourites? I’ve got more to show you in a future post.

I have to say that the brighter colours are gorgeous and I think that you can just use a touch of them or build them up for a stronger look. I’ve tried the 1987 (gold) with a little Zone (nude/brown) as a day time look but haven’t decided which to use for NYE yet!
