So, last week you’ll have read all about my visit to Liberty for the launch of the new product from Dermalogica – the Charcoal Rescue Masque. Well since then I’ve been on my Easter holidays (no not Bora Bora more Tooting Bec with the odd trip on the Northern Line!) and I’ve had time to try a few products. Not that I really needed much time for this Charcoal Rescue Masque. It takes only 7-10 minutes to use and if you follow the tip I was given about washing it off in the shower then it hardly makes any mess either.
What does it do?
I’ll be brief as I’ve provided a lot of detail in my previous post here. It detoxifies and brightens all skin conditions. It refines pores, calms redness, and improves skin texture and smoothness. It addresses ageing, dullness, breakouts and sensitivity.
What’s in it?
Again I’ll be brief: activated binchotan charcoal, sulphur, volcanic ash, hot spring, marine silt, bamboo stem extract, phytic, lactic and mandelic acids, niacinamide and Chilean wild mint.
Did I like it?
It’s a resounding YES from me! I applied the masque with my fingers and it immediately felt cooling and calming. Then as it dried on my skin I could feel it tighten and it seemed as though I could physically feel the impurities being drawn out and my pores unblocking. I’d deliberately applied the masque just ahead of my shower so that I could remove the masque easily. The instructions are to remove the masque by massaging your skin with very wet hands. It makes perfect sense to do this in the shower so that you can remove every trace whilst gently exfoliating your skin.
I’m so pleased with the effect it has had on my skin it feels so smooth and really deep-cleaned. I can see myself using this weekly as I can’t get enough of the feeling! I have to say I’m generally quite lazy about applying masques so thanks to Dermalogica for convincing me to try it!
