YourGoodSkin has been co-created by scientists, dermatologists and 1000s of women (you can read more about the story behind the brand here) and is designed to restore and maintain skin’s natural balance for visibly healthy skin The range is made up of 23 products from cleansers to targeted treatments and I’m going to introduce you to the three that I’ve been trialling.
The first of these is the YourGoodSkin Balancing Skin Concentrate which is described as their hero product. It’s clinically proven to improve skin texture, tone evenness, radiance, oiliness and moisture levels. It’s a lightweight serum designed to be used twice a day between your cleanser and moisturiser.
Ingredients include:
- Multi action antioxidant complex with Green tea, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and lipochroman
- Japanese lily turf root extract to visibly improve the appearance of the skin
- Sphinganine to combat oiliness
I really loved this product and used it all up – continuing to use it after my initial trial period – that’s always a good sign for me! Loved the pump dispenser for the hygiene and also measured amounts.
I also tried the YourGoodSkin Nourishing Hot Cloth Cleanser it comes with a pure cotton cloth apply the cleanser with. It’s a creamy cleanser that removes make-up and dirt and the cloth gently polishes away dead skin for a healthy glow. I used it as a second cleanse after removing make up with a balm cleanser.
Key ingredients are:
- bisabolol
- green tea
- vitamin C
I’m a big fan of hot cloth cleansers and this one keeps up with the most expensive of them – in fact I prefer it to one very well-known brand.
Finally, I tried the YourGoodSkin Purifying Treatment Mask. I’ve been getting a lot better at remembering to use treatment masks alongside my regular daily skin care routine. This one comes in a handy tube so it’s not too messy and it’s easy to dispense the right amount. It’s a white mineral clay mask with skin-clearing properties that soak up excess oil and impurities. It’s intended for weekly use and I’ve been really happy with the results. It only takes five minutes to work and it’s so reasonably priced. Key ingredients are the same as the hot cloth cleanser above.
You can find You Good Skin products in Boots stores and on-line. Oh and if you’re wondering what the lemons have to do with things – nothing at all – they were the only props I had to hand that day!
