This is the first time I’ve carried out this exercise. I started collecting my empties at the beginning of the month. I thought it would be interesting to see which of the products I buy and use actually get completely emptied. I’ve provided links from each item so that you can try them too!
1. Nivea anti-perspirant invisible
- for black and white
- white mark protection clear
- 48 hour
- anti-yellow staining
- price £3.29
This isn’t my favourite anti-perspirant – it was a last minute purchase at Tesco local. But I do love the fact it doesn’t leave white marks and its long lasting. Not that I tried it out for 48 hours. Who would wear it that long without washing off and reapplying?
2. No 7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser
- all skin types
A really good cleanser that comes with a muslin cloth. I enjoyed using it and made my skin feel really clean as well as moisturised. I would buy it again although I’m currently trying out another No7 cleanser.
- for moisturised and protected hands
- moisturising cream
I’ve always had a bit of a downer on Dove products since I tried a shampoo and conditioner that left my hair dryer than before I used them. But this handwash had changed my perceptions. It’s pleasant smelling and really moisturises.
4. Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero-Smudge Volume+Lift Mascara
This mascara from my favourite brand delivers on all its promises. It lasts all day until I take it off with cleanser. It doesn’t smudge and it makes my short stumpy lashes look gorgeous. What’s not to like?
5. TRESemme Cleanse & Replenish Conditioner
- pro-vitamin b5 & aloe
- all hair types
- professional quality
This huge bottle lasts for ages. This brand is often offer in supermarkets and gives real value for money. As good or better than many of the brands on the market.
6. L’Oreal Paris Elvive Triple Resist X 3 Reinforcing Shampoo
- Arginine + protein
- Nourishes from root
- Feels stronger
- For fragile hair with tendency to fall
This is a lovely shampoo with a rich lather. Otherwise its unremarkable – it cleans your hair – that’s it!
7. Tresemme Deep Cleansing Shampoo
- for all hair types
- Vitamin C
A lovely rich conditioner that leaves my hair feeling soft and looking shiny. Really good value for money in this large size.
- pur silicium
This is a rich, luxurious night cream. It smells and feels amazing. I’m a bit forgetful about using this or any night cream but I’m always pleased with the results when I wake up in the morning after using this one. I was so lucky to have this as part of a beauty hamper from House of Fraser. I had never bought anything from this range before. Its name put me off. It sounds a little like an ecologically sound heating company but I love everything they make. It’s not cheap but it’s really worth the money. Sad it’s finished but I’m currently trialling a Lancome product.
9. Lancome Absolue Nuit Premium BX
- all skin types
I was given a sample of this by a friend. It was a perfectly good night cream, nothing exceptional and I would say not so impressive as the Biotherm product above. On checking the price of the full size to write this I’ve found it costs £136.00! I really couldn’t substantiate this amount on a night cream so sorry Lancome I won’t be buying it again.
10. Sure Women 48 hour active anti-perspirant
- longlasting protection
- linen dry
- ultra dry
- motionsense system
- 0% alcohol
I do hesitate to include anti-perspirant in a list of beauty products. I heard someone say the other day that deodorant is a beauty product but anti-perspirant is considered under medicines?! Anyway I don’t think that you can be beautiful with sweat patched under your arms so I’m counting this in!
This one is my go to brand and fragrance and it never lets me down – and yes I’m sure!
