Urban Nature, the Power of People and a No Norm Attitude – GOSH SS17

When the cold and snow of February is chilling your bones it’s always good to turn your thoughts to warmer brighter days. So when the spring and summer make up collections start to appear you know you’re one step closer. This week saw the launch of the GOSH Copenhagen SS17 range. Inspiration for the range comes from the greening of cities, environmentally friendly buildings and architects efforts to replicate nature as well as the power of people and a no norm attitude – echoing social media and influencing every day life.

The new season also presents a new hero Nordic ingredient –  the dandelion. By nature it’s a rebellious flower – a weed that flowers in all areas of the world bringing it’s beauty and beneficial ingredients.

For me the beauty of the brand is that it always on trend but in a way that can be applied to suit your mood and style. It’s also easy on the pocket. Still,  I know that you’re keen to see the new stuff and don’t need me to chatter on and holding you back from taking a look at the goods

So, new for SS17 are:

Eye Xpressions

Each palette hold one highlight effect shadow and three matt shades. Above is oo1 Back To nature. It also comes in 002 Thunder Storm & 003 Urban Nature. All wearable shades that stay put and a quad is the ideal side to carry with you to the office.

Lumi Drops (Blush Shades) & Velvet Touch Lipstick Matt (New Shades)

The Lumi Drops range was introduced in 2016 as three liquid highlighters and they’ve now added two blush shades. Above is 009 Coral Blush. The other shade is 008 Rose Blush. It gives a really sheer glow with a slight shimmer and it’s infused with dandelion too – just lovely!

Also above (right) is one of the new shades in the Velvet Touch Lipstick Matt  range – it’s 019 Matt Angel, it’s joined by 020 Matt Pleasure, 021 Matt Fidelity, 022 Matt Orchid and 023 Matt Chestnut. The great thing about these Matt shades is that they have hyaluronic acid for long-lasting hydration and aren’t drying at all.

CCC – Contour-Cover-Conceal

What  a line up they’ve brought you with this CCC (Contour, Cover, Conceal) range! Designed to create a perfect complexion they camouflage but also promote skin improvement. The formula eliminates small imperfections, reduces visible pores and gives an instant soft focus effect.

They come in shades 001 Highlight Vanilla & 002 Highlight Golden which are vegan friendly and they’re joined by 003 Light, 004 Medium, 005 Dark & 006 Very Dark. Both highlighters and the light and medium shades suit my fair skin and I’ve found the coverage to be perfect and practically undetectable. Highlights are a current favourite as they glide on so easily and blend.

Liquid Matte Lips

For me Liquid Matt Lips are the stars of the show! Look at how clear and true the shades are. They are matt and pigment packed and every one of them is a winner! They are infused with dandelion – rich in caretonoids, vitamins and minerals, flavonoids and sterols which are anti-inflammatory,  antioxidant and skin soothing.

The formula also contains LIPperfection which is ecocertified and based on mustard sprouts. This provides a plumping and hydrating effect to reduce fine lines and give a fuller and firmer look to your lips.

Shades are: 001 Candyfloss, 002 Pink Sorbet, 003 Nougat Fudge, 004 Chinese Rouge (Top Photo) and 005 Red Carpet, 006 Berry Me, 007 Nougat Crisp, 008 Arabian Night. Bottom photo)

Giant Pro Double Liner, Giant Pro Kajal, Infinity Eye Liner, Volume Serum Mascara

The final launch products are the mascara and liner line-up!. Designed to be playful, edgy with an urban twist.

The Giant Pro Kajal is creamy and long-lasting and designed to be easy to apply. It’s based on natural waxes and oils – shea butter and soya lecithin.

Then there’s the Giant Pro Double Liner has a deep black ink liner at one end and a creamy black kajal. This is so easy and precise to apply and it’s great to have in your make up bag as you can achieve different looks with one product.

They’ve also added Infinity Liners to the range – so called because they last for up to 14 hours. You can use it around the eye or on the water line and it comes in 6 colours. 001 Black, 02 Carbon Black, 003 Rock, 004 Earth, 005 Ocean, 006 Ash. Oh and they come with a smudger at the other end!

Last in this section and in the new range is the Volume Serum Mascara and it’s USP is that it’s suitable for lash extensions. It’s infused with dandelion but is also produced without any oil and utilises arabic gum to maintain softness and flexibility. Microcrystalline and carauba waxes make for a soft creamy consistency. The brush is a little odd – well, that may be me being biased because I poked myself in the eye with it! Still it’s a two-sided comb, not a brush at all with one side for volume and the other for lengthening and combing. I’ve never seen this design before – you need to try it!

So that’s it! So many fabulous additions to the range that I’ really am looking forward to trying out different make-up looks each morning.
