Urban Decay After Dark & All Nighter

Urban Decay has been busy recently opening new UK outlets and their most recent was at Selfridges where they exclusively launched their latest eye-shadow palette After Dark. I’ve been itching to get my hands on it ever since and now here it is!
After Dark7
Right from the off you can feel a glam party vibe about the packaging – the box and the case have a rainbow holographic effect and the palette feels weighty in your hand. You know you have something special from UD that’s going to deliver!

For all of you who needed a break, however short from the Urban Decay Naked shades this is for you – in act every UD fan needs this! This isn’t about the no makeup look or being understated this is a full-on nighttime glamour palette.

Shades are jewel toned with seven new shades and three favourites. There are shade-shifting duo tones and metallised shimmers. There’s also a double-ended brush to help you get the look right even when you’re on the go!

Close up here are: Alter – creamy gold • Scene – light rose gold • Supersonic – intense fiery, coppery red • Druggie – a true purple haze • Backfire – maroon/plum

And: Sinful – rich antique gold • Off duty – burnished bronze • Lounge – duo shade brick red and khaki • Fringe – deep teal • Paralyzed – deep smokey navy
I really don’t think that photos can do the shades justice – well mine can’t anyway! They catch the light so beautifully and I can’t tell you how much I have to hold myself back from wearing them all at once – or somewhere inappropriate like a Lidl shopping trip ( I know how to live!) But I’m saving them for my next glamorous event and am just hoping my rookie MUA skills will do them justice.

Much as I hate doing swatches – I know that you all love to see them and these are of just one swipe of my finger across the shadow and wiped onto my arm with no primer or base. Above is the top row: Alter, Scene, Supersonic, Sinful, Off Duty.

Urban Decay Al Nighter Spray
Oh and just before I go for today – I promised you some info about Urban Decay All-Nighter. Many of you will have already tried and loved this long-lasting setting spray that promises 16 hours of make-up perfection. It’s had a revamp of its packaging and comes in a handy purse-size spray for just £9 here (the full size is available too).
I particularly like the really fine spray – some other products make me feel like I’ve been in the shower! It also doesn’t feel sticky or tight. I do have to say that I have a terrible habit of touching my face and that this combined with hot conditions say on the tube in the summer means that I struggle to keep my make-up on even using this spray. Still, it would be unhealthy if it blocked up your pores so badly that you couldn’t sweat at all. I’m not sure what the answer is for me – but for most of you, this will be the best setting spray you’ve tried!
