Guys, it’s nearly summer. Unless you’ve been traveling you probably haven’t seen much of the sun yet but I’ve seen glimpses of summer in some of the makeup and fragrances I’ve been trialing. I’ve also seen a bit of a peach theme going on.
This newest twist on the best-selling Wave fragrance from Hollister California is Wave 2. Ok so they didn’t get very creative with the name but they’ve done a great job with producing a gorgeously packaged scent with a bottle reminiscent of a California sunset. And the fragrance is warm and sunny too!
Top notes: Sunlit Peach, Coconut Water, Sparkling Mandarin
Mid notes: Water Lily, Pink Freesia, Tiare Flower
Dry: Driftwood, White Sands, Vanilla Orchid
This fun summer scent is exclusive to Superdrug here until June 28 and prices start at £22.
There’s a real trend from brands for the no make-up look but it can be a real struggle to get that healthy glowing look, especially at the start of the summer. If your skin won’t stand up to the no make-up look then a little help from a multi-functional palette like this Essence Blush Play Sculpt Blush Palette. It comes in two colour ways and this one is Shade 10: Play It Peach. The three shades can be used as you please to contour, blush, or highlight and I’d happily use them on my eyes too. The texture is creamy with great colour pay off and it only costs £4 here from Wilko.
This is my second Makeup Obsession Palette this time I’ve only included eye shadows in beachy/peachy shades: Ibiza, Cinnamon, Mink, Scene. You may have read my original review here but palettes start from £4 and shadows are £2 each here
And just sneaking into the bottom of the pic above is the cheapest of all my peachy picks – it’s the Freedom Makeup London Pro Butter Gloss in Cappuccino Lover and it costs £1! This really isn’t a gloss – it’s a liquid lipstick/butter that goes on smoothly and is almost matte but not quite. So it’s quite moist with pretty good staying power.
What do you think of the bare-faced look? Are you up for a touch of peach in your makeup look and your fragrances? I’m loving these and especially that they won’t break the bank.
Hazel
