This month I was determined to do my empties post right away and not leave it for months to build up to a huge list. This means that there are only 5 empties on the list but they’re all goodies! Here goes:
It really is so hard to find twist-up lip liners and when you do find a brand that makes them you can’t find a good nude colour. So this Nyx Retractable Lip Liner in Natural really fits the bill. It’s a really lovely creamy formula which was both a good thing and bad in a way as I did find that it was a little vulnerable to breaking. Still, this wasn’t nearly as much a problem as I find with lip pencils that break and waste a lot of product each time you sharpen them. It’s a purse-friendly £6 here.
I’ve learned not to be afraid of using oil on my skin even though I have combination skin. This DHC Pore Cleansing Oil is a blend of coconut, argan, evening primrose, olive, jojoba, avocado, grape seed, rice bran and sesame oils. Naturally anti-oxidant they loosen dirt, dissolve makeup, remove impurities and deep clean pores. I love it as a first cleanse to lift away makeup. I’ve reviewed it here.
I’ve bought this over and over again in the last two years since it first launched it’s my absolute holy grail of a base. The La Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur blurs pores, blemishes and fine lines and absorbs oil all day long. When I wear it I feel like the best version of me that I can be. Absolutely love it! It only comes in two shades though so I feel very fortunate that one of them is an exact match for me.
I was really late to the party with Alpha H but now since I’ve found it I’ve been very impressed. I discovered the wonders of Vitamin C way back before I discovered the Alpha H Vitamin C with Grape Seed but it’s been perfect – right down to the packaging which is insulated to protect the Vitamin C formula which can be quite fragile.
This absolute gem came to me via the Beauty Rocks box Tokyo Loves. It’s the Shiseido – Senka Perfect Whip Cleansing Foam. As a Londoner, I couldn’t get it to foam without the use of my DHC Mesh but otherwise, it was a perfect second cleanse. It’s pretty tough to find in the UK but I’ve found a site that will ship it to you. Otherwise, I suggest you keep a lookout for future treats from Jamie Rockers in her beauty box series.
And well that’s it for September. I’ve got a busy October ahead with lots of new launches and Christmas previews (as well as parties) so keep your eyes open for lots more beauty news. And do share with me what you’ve been using up these days – unless you’re one of those people that can never get to the end of something because they just keep buying more!
