Can you believe it’s been four years since the Revolution started? I know it has because just last month I went the 4th Birthday Party for the re-branded Revolution Beauty London. This is the new name for the company that brings us:
Adam Minto is rightly exceptionally proud of his business but what makes the brand so relatable is that Adam isn’t just proud of what he’s created he also recognises and is demonstrably thankful for not just his family and team’s support but he also knows for sure that it’s the customers, the fans, the supporters and influencers that keep the Revolution moving along apace.
The brand is all about confidence, fun, innovation and making the best of every moment no matter who you are. Not only are the products accessible and great value they’re effective too. The whole concept smacks of egalitarianism and that showed itself too at the celebratory party. Anyone and everyone that’s been along with Adam for the ride from family and investors to retailers, buyers, bloggers and customers from all over the world and all ages gathered to share in the success of the brand – and we soaked up the feeling that there’s a whole lot more to come. You can’t help but get caught up in the enthusiasm!
As you might expect – on the night I became the proud owner of a few more Revolution products. So here’s a little look at what I’ve been trialling recently and what I thought. All neatly tucked into a bag to show off the new branding were:
- I Heart Revolution 24k Gold Paletteshadow
- Rose Gold Ingot Highlighter
- Revolution Pro Supreme Matte Lip Pigment – Illusion
The I Heart Revolution 24k Gold Palette is a special edition palette with 16 rich, warm toned shades. There are six matte shades and ten shimmers ranging through shimmering golds, peachy shades and bronzes for endless looks. Oh and they’re vegan, cruelty free and gluten-free.
Encased in a beautiful metallic gold palette with a mirror and double ended applicator are L to R:
Top Row: Bling, Lustre, Spirit, Spice, Gilded
Middle Row : Flare, Stun, Real, Moonlit, Glacier, Solitaire
Bottom Row: Rock, Stone, Crown, Satellite Gem
Bling and Gem can definitely double up as highlighters and all the shades have great pay off and it’s only £8.99!
This Revolution Rose Gold Ingot Highlighter has slotted straight into my daily make up routine. It’s the perfect shade for me to add a touch of glow for a day at work or applied more liberally to take me into an evening cocktails session. It’s long wearing and described as a super intense pink with a rose tone. I’d say it’s way more subtle than that with a creamy rose gold glow. It contains light reflecting pigments but is not at all glittery. It also comes in platinum and gold and costs just £4.
And my favourite product of the three and one that will surely make the top of my list of best lip products ever (I just need to buy a slightly different shade) is the Revolution PRO Matte Lip Pigment in Illusion a matte neutral nude. I’m so blown away by how it applies, the depth of colour, the formula, how it lasts so well and how it looks. It’s billed as a matte but it’s not an ugly dry matte and it’s so comfortable to wear. It comes in 30 shades – so I know that there will be one for me – and applies easily with a doe foot applicator. If you feel you want something a little more glam then you can go ahead and add gloss – no problem.
