GOSH AW15 Reviews

You may remember that last week I went to the GOSH AW15 Launch Event. Well since then I’ve been playing with all the lovely colours and textures and now I can let you know what I think about all the new products.

GOSHvelvettouchlipsticks6

I was most excited to try out the Velvet Touch Matte Lipsticks. They come in  8 shades – Left side from top: 001 Baby Lips, 002 Rose, 003 Antique, 004 Coral. Right side from top: 008 Plum, 007 Cherry, 006 Raspberry, 005 Classic Red.

So far I’ve tried out the summery colours Baby Lips, Rose and Coral and I’m saving the autumn colours for later in the year. The finish is perfect matte and each is contained in a sleek black case. It applies smoothly, is well pigmented and stays on well. They aren’t drying but although they contain hyaluronic acid for moisture I didn’t find them moisturising. They cost £6.99 here.

I was also quite intrigued to try the Foundation Drops as I’ve been aware of other high-end brands using this kind of formula for an easy way to customize make-up by mixing drops of foundation with serum or moisturiser depending on the finish and coverage that you like.

I tried two shades 002 Ivory and 004 Natural.

I can’t say that any of the claims for this foundation are untrue ( Soothing & hydrating, buildable coverage, silky flawless finish, argan oil & antiderm, protecting & anti-flammatoric, SPF10) but I wasn’t really sold on it. First I didn’t feel that either of the shades were really right for me. With only 5 shades there isn’t too much scope for matching. Then I found the drop method a little messy. so, you’ve put some drops on your hand, then you need to get your brush to pick up the product to apply and you need to put the dropper down or back in the bottle. Meanwhile you can’t really use the hand with the foundation on it because the drops would run. Finally I applied the foundation and it was ok, I mean just ok, it didn’t wow me. It was just there. I tried one shade for a day and the other the next day and then I went back to another foundation. Sorry GOSH this isn’t for me. If you’d like to give the drops a shot, they’re not really any stress on your purse as they only cost £12.99 here. About a third of the cost of the high-end brands.

This is the surprise favourite for me of these new products it’s the Boombastic Swirl mascaraI’ve tried so many mascaras in the past and with my short stubby lashes I’ve only ever found one mascara that makes them look amazing. It’s high-end and the case is so pretty so it’s a hard act to follow. At first I thought that the brush looked a bit odd and unwieldy but now I’ve got the hang of it it’s easy. a couple of coats makes my lashes look long and full and at £8.49 here it’s less than half the price of my high-end favourite.

The nail care products also turned out to be a success. ( I confess I’ve haven’t used the nail & cuticle oil yet but I used the 2 in 1 nail hardener as a base coat, then a couple of coats of colour, topped with gel look top coat and finished with fast dry drops. What I got was a really great looking nail finish. It was glossy, lasted ages and the fast dry drops were so good! These are all definitely a permanent feature of my nail care routine. Each of them are only £4.99.

What I forgot to mention in my post on the GOSH AW15 Launch Event was that GOSH make a range of brushes. I got to try the foundation and kabuki brushes but they don’t seem to be available on-line at the moment. They may be available in store. The range starts from £6.99.

GOSH are such a great low-cost range that I love and you’ll always find at least one product from GOSH in my make-up bag. Do you have any GOSH favourites?
