I’ve been getting some great feedback from readers saying that they really love these empties posts. I’m guessing that’s because they know that I’ve really experienced these products over a period of time rather than just snapping a photo before selling the products on Depop or e-bay.
So let’s kick off with May’s empties – apologies for not having photos of everything. This is because I’ve bought products for day-to-day use – not for the blog – and not really thought to photograph them first. Then when they’re done they’re not really in a fit state to be photographed.

Woods of Windsor Lily of the Valley Moisturising Bath & Shower Gel
This shower gel was one half of a really cute gift set from Woods of Windsor. you can buy the full size 250ml for £6.79 here. The timeless Lily of the Valley fragrance is a blend with lily of the valley at heart with dewy green leaves, geranium oil and uplifting citrus notes.
Fragrance
Jimmy Choo EDP Trial size
I use all my fragrances on rotation so it can take a while to finish a bottle – even when it’s a cute trial size like this! It’s an exotic fragrance with top notes of pear and sweet Italian orange, heart notes of tiger orchid and bottom notes of toffee and Indonesian patchouli. Buy it from £39.99 here
Haircare
Brazilian Keratin Smoothing Therapy conditioner
Always looking for hair products that keep my fluffy frizzy hair under control. I found this at TK Maxx – a place I like to go to try out things that I don’t want to splurge on until I know they work. This is a creamy conditioner formulated with keratin and a blend of Rosemary, Lemongrass, Orange and Ylang Ylang essential oils. It’s designed to help repair, control frizz and restore shine and softness. It’s currently available here for £6.
Knight & Wilson style freedom dry shampoo
This was a great product from Knight & Wilson’s Style Freedom range stocked exclusively in Superdrug. Sadly it’s not currently in stock right now but I hope that this is soon rectified. They are a great brand with lots of super purse-friendly products that work.
I got the tiny trial size version of Redken’s Diamond Oil Glow Dry Style Enhancing Oil in a cute Look Fantastic Christmas set. I’ve been using this to smooth down the ends of my hair and it’s an absolute gem that I’m sad to see finish. What I didn’t know is that it’s designed to be a protective blow-dry oil that works to accelerate the hair drying process as well as adding mirror-like shine. I’m definitely contemplating a repurchase of the full size to make even better use of it next time around. The 100ml size is available here on offer at the time of writing if you’d like to give it a try.

Clinique Fresh Pressed 7-day system
I’ve had a bit of a look back recently at brands that I used before I was a blogger and one of these is Clinique. I had a lovely experience visiting the Clinique’s store in London’s Covent Garden a while back and the service I got there helped me to explore some of there more recent products. I’ve been wanting to try the Clinique Fresh Pressed™ 7-Day System with Pure Vitamin C for ages but until my visit, I’d not found anyone who could show me how it’s used.
I’d discovered the virtues of Vitamin C some time ago but Vitamin C is quite troublesome to keep fresh and this system gets around the difficulties. This kit presents you with a weekly dose. It contains a cleansing powder and a skin-boosting solution. They work together to visibly rejuvenate by brightening and freshening. They’re housed in stay-fresh packaging so that the Vitamin C product is isolated until exposure to oxygen which activates the formula and allows for maximum results.
I loved being able to try this for a week before deciding if I wanted to by larger sizes of the individual products. I loved how my skin looked after a week and would definitely invest again ahead of a special event for the freshness and clarity it brought me. The kit is available here priced £25 but do visit the Covent Garden store for individual advice if you get the chance.
Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer
Designed to refresh, soothe and brighten your skin this is a scented toner with rose-scented geranium, lavender and sweet lovage that hydrates rather than drying. I’ve reviewed it previously here. It costs £15.50 here.
Strivectin Advanced Acid Repair NIA 114 + Oleic Rapid Recovery Milk
One of the three Strivectin Advanced Acids products that I reviewed previously here. The Strivectin Oleic Rapid Recovery Milk is designed to replenish your skin’s lipids for improved firmness & elasticity. I can’t fault any of this Strivectin range. Fabulous to have all of them around so you can mix and match as the needs of your skin change due to your health or weather. It’s £55.50 here.
And – that’s me for the May review – not long now for the June round-up. Hope this has given you some great beauty ideas. Do shout up if you have any questions. I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
