Its been a long hot summer and I’ve been loving the weather and enjoying family time and using up some real gems. Here are my empties for the last few months.
Bodycare
Korres Santorini Vine Shower Gel 250ml £8
I bought this one as part of my supermarket shop and didn’t think to take a photo. Sometimes it’s nice to just have a normal life and not do everything “for the gram”.
This shower gel has a fresh, fruity fragrance. It’s formulated with wheat protein that produces a protective film over the skin that helps to maintain hydration. It also has Vitamin B2 to improve skin metabolism and aid absorption of nutrients and Vitamin B5 to boost skin cell regeneration. It soothes, moisturises and softens all skin types. I’d definitely buy this again.
REN Atlantic Kelp & Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Wash 300ml £22
I got this 100ml size of the REN Skincare Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Wash as part of the Marks & Spencer Summer Beauty Box but you can find it here in a 300ml size for £22.
The formula is enriched with Atlantic Kelp Extract which works to hydrate and smooth. It also has Plankton Extract and Magnesium to energise skin by encouraging cell renewal and reducing stress damage. The signature REN anti-fatigue essential oil blend adds an uplifting effect.
Fragrance
Viktor & Rolf Bonbon 30ml £52,50
This was a gift a few years back and arguably still my favourite perfume ever. Mine came as part of a gift set but can be purchased from £52,50 here on its own. Previously reviewed here this is a timeless fragrance that has mandarin, orange, caramel, and peach top notes; jasmine and orange blossom mid notes; and base notes of cedar, sandalwood, and amber. Very tempted to repurchase but I really cant justify it right now given that my fragrance shelf and cupboard are bursting at the seams!
Makeup
Well yes, I know that £28 is a lot for a mascara but every time that I do buy this Diorshow New Look mascara I’m reminded how good it is. And in the meantime, if I buy a couple of high street mascaras that really don’t work for me the spend is wasted. I’ve repurchased several times and reviewed it previously here.
This Nars Climax mascara was a gift from the lovely Dave Lackie, just arriving in the post for no reason at all but to say hi! I love how this mascara looks on – it gave me full very black lashed. I did use it all up but sadly it did flake and leave me looking panda eyed by the end of the day. I’d say it’s great for when you take photos but not something to wear for work, or where you’re not going to have the chance to revisit your makeup application during the day. You can find it here if you want to give it a try,
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Original
I practically never wear eyeshadow without having an Urban Decay Primer Potion applied first. The version I’ve just used up was as pictured the Original version but my slight preference is for the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Anti-Ageing Primer Potion.
Both versions do a fabulous job i respect of staying power and keeping the colour of the shadow true to the original. The Anti-Ageing version just gives that extra bit of help to smooth out lids as it goes. You can read my previous review here.
Skincare
The Alpha-H Hyaluronic 8 Serumis such a lovely moisturising serum. Through the warm days when I’ve not wanted to wear heavy skin care I’ve found this to be sufficient hydration for the day knowing that it’s plumping and smoothing too. You can read my previous review here and if you’re quick you’ll find that it’s on offer for £30.40 here
Caudalie Beauty Elixir Limited Edition £32.00 (100ml)
This beautiful Caudalie Beauty Elixir is a product that I’ve had several times in several different versions and it’s a firm favourite. I’ve particularly loved using it in the summer months. You can read my review here.
Pixi Skintreats Vitamin C Serum £26
If you’re a regular reader of my posts you’ll know that I love a good Vitamin C product. This Pixi Skintreats Vitamin C Serum has been a really lovely product to use, and I couldn’t fault it. You can read my original review here.
Sunday Riley Blue Moon Clean Rinse Cleansing Balm £46
Well, I have to say that I really hated saying goodbye to this Sunday Riley Blue Moon Clean Rinse Cleansing Balm. When I reviewed the product here previously, I was really pleased with it but slight bemoaning the fact that it had scrub like particles in it. But now I really really miss this as part of my daily routine. Even though I have a fabulous balm from an alternative brand to use. Here‘s where to get your hands on it.
Nails
This CND Vinylux Weekly Top Coat is the nail product that I just can’t live without. Even when I use a shade from another brand I cover it with this fabulous top coat that just lasts and lasts. And even recently when I went to have gel nails done at www.mytownhouse.co.uk I had CND products applied. I’m so close to ditching all the non CND products from my collection. And that would be a great excuse for me to buy some more wouldn’t it? Here‘s where I’ve reviewed it previously.
So that’s it for this time. I can’t believe how long it took me to get around to writing this. Hopefully, I’ll be back with another new post before too long!
Hazel
Great post and £28 is money well spent on a mascara if it is “the one”

I’ve been taking the REN bodywash from the M&S beauty box away on my travels with me and have enjoyed using it so much, it’s out of the travel bag and into the shower at home now. Thanks for the heads-up on the Dior Mascara, I’ve been searching for a new one and this sounds great

I really want to try the Pixi Vitamin C Serum! It’s a shame about the NARS mascara smudging but I often find mascaras do that, which sucks. I love my Caudalie Beauty Elixir but I think mine will run out this month as well x
