QVC Beauty SS16

Beauty Sign

Seems as though when they planned the QVC SS16 press day they wanted to make sure that we were properly welcomed – as well as being welcomed by our lovely hosts at the door the set up at the entrance to a spring garden was well sign-posted and so cute!

I always thought of QVC Beauty as a bit of a guilty pleasure but as I’ve developed as a blogger I’ve found myself watching it more and more and discovering some amazing brands and learning some great beauty tips.

Doll 10

Inside the studio I found so many now familiar brands as well as some more amazing new ones like Doll 10 – a chic cosmetic line focusing on hi-tech, anti-aging ingredients. The “doll” behind this niche makeup brand is Doris Dalton with Doris’ sound scientific background as a Doctor, she’s set out to create products that are good for you.

Laura Geller.jpg

There was plenty of Laura Geller there nestling among the ivy! I fell in love with the brand recently, you can read more here. I’d really love to build on my collection though and I know I just need to tune it to QVC or go on line to find myself more bargains.

There was one real star of the show for me and that was the Dafni ceramic hair straightening brush. I met the co-inventor of the brush and she demonstrated it on me. I’d just arrived with hair made frizzy by London drizzle and this worked miracles in just a few minutes. It’s so easy to use and you don’t need t section of small areas of hair to straighten as you can just brush through your hair. Each of the “bristles” is heated and you can get right to the roots without burning your scalp.

It’s not available in the UK yet and I don’t know how much it will cost but I predict it will be a best seller.

Little Ondine 2

Little Ondine, this is a brand that keeps on popping up wherever I go. It’s got so many USPs. It’s peel off, it’s water based, it’s natural and it doesn’t smell like ordinary polish does. The queue for a manicure was long so I haven’t tried it yet but I spy one in the bottom of my goodie bag so I’ll let you know what I think soon.

Deborah Lipmann

Each corner of the studio displayed another gorgeous brand and Deborah Lipmann is another brand that I can’t wait to try.

By the time I’d walked around the room a few times I’d been able to become acquainted and reacquainted with a whole host of brands including:

Elemis, Taya, Liz Earle, Josie Maran, Tan Luxe, AD Skin Synergy, Ultrasun, Japonesque, Tarte, Deborah Lipmann, Doll 10, Judith Williams, Benefit, Vita Liberata, Imedeen, Prai, Murad, Little Ondine, Sandy Bay, Margaret Dabbs, Dr Dennis Gross, SBC and Nails Inc.

What a line up! I’ve got some really great products to trial and report on for you. Today I’ve started using three of the products that I brought home. They are the Doll 10 CC Powder (below), Judith Williams Luxury Diamond BB Cream and the amazing Benefit They’re Real Lash Primer (I’m already in love!) – so expect individual reviews soon.

Are you a QVC lover? What do you like to buy? I think I may be converted!
