It felt like Christmas had come early for me when these three beauties arrived this week. Having  new perfume and unwrapping and unboxing it is all part of the excitement for me and I relate this experience to special occasions such as birthday or Christmas or very occasionally a special treat for myself.

Van Cleef & Arpels First Edition Or Eau de Parfum

First (see what I did there) I tried the very luxurious Van Cleef & Arpels First Edition Or Eau de Parfum. This is what I’d call a “grown up” fragrance. It’s warm and heady and sexy. It lasts really long on the skin and made me feel so special. I love the expensive looking bottle and the gorgeous Christmassy packaging. I’ve given it pride of place on my dressing table.

They say:

“Van Cleef & Arpels have created a precious and sophisticated new interpretation of First this Christmas, First Edition Or Eau de Parfum. A fitting tribute to one of perfumery’s greatest classics, this Aldehydic Floral Musky fragrance is as luminous as precious gold itself. Opening with floral aldehydes, and bergamot for radiant freshness, the fragrance develops with musky accords of blonde woods and vanilla, creating a trail of great elegance, reminiscent of the finest gold jewellery.”

This would make a lovely gift for Christmas and it’s available here for £59.50.

It’s worth buying this stunning perfume for the bottle alone! This Cartier La Panthere Eau de Parfum is as slinky and sexy as the big cat that it’s named after. It’s a sophisticated scent, warm musky and long lasting. It’s one for winter nights in with someone special or for head turning entrances into a special venue. A special gift that couldn’t fail to please both visually and aromatically!

They say:

“A captivating fragrance that reveals a free-spirited and passionate woman. A feline-floral accord born from the fusion between a radiant and delicate gardenia with sensual musky notes. At the heart of the bottle, an internal sculpture draws the fascinating and majestic panther.”

If you’re feeling indulgent then you can get buy it here for £49.00 – £90.00.

Jimmy Choo Man Eau de Toilette

When I was asked if I’d like to review Jimmy Choo Man – I wasn’t really sure what to say at first. I don’t have a man in my life and of course I wouldn’t wear it myself so what would be the purpose? Then I got to thinking about how many of the fragrances for men that are bought are chosen by women and I thought that you might all like to know what I think about this new fragrance from Jimmy Choo.

Jimmy Choo Man  is the first ever men’s fragrance by Jimmy Choo and their campaign features Hollywood star Kit Harington, of Game of Thrones fame.

They say:

“The masculine fragrance is a woody aromatic fougère, full of modern freshness. Top notes of lavender and mandarin spray are softened by the fruity notes of honeydew melon, followed by heart notes of pink pepper and geranium mixed with pineapple leaf. Finally the fragrance unveils a lasting print of patchouli, suede and ambery woods.”

I tried this fragrance on myself and found it delicious smelling and fruity. There definitely is a lasting print of woodiness and this lasted on my skin after washing and into the next day. Great for your man but I’ll definitely remember not to try out any men’s fragrances on myself again fir fear of them clashing with my own chosen fragrances.

If you’d like to treat your man then you can buy it here priced £26.10 – £54.99

So what do you think? Should I feature more fragrances for men?

I’d love to know what you think. Enjoy your Christmas shopping – it starts now right?
