There are some really classy numbers in this November empties run down! I’ve only just reviewed the Your Good Skin Balancing Skin Concentrate and I’ve already started my second bottle! If you missed it then you can read what I thought about it here.
This was the month that I got to trial my first Kiehl’s products! I tried a whole bunch of travel size products and this is the first of them. It’s the Kiehls Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter.
The name says everything you need to know really it’s a light whipped cream that smells divine and sinks into the skin leaving it so soft. Do they do this in bucket size I wonder – because that’s the size for me!
I can’t tell you how much I miss using this Emma Hardie Lift & Sculpt Firming Neck Treatment. I always apply serum and moisturiser to my neck and throat and I’s be lying if I said that I haven’t got other amazing products to use but it’s the ritual of using the roller to massage the neck and jaw line to apply the product that feels so good. And the results are amazing too. I’m hoping that Santa will think that I’ve been good this year and bring me a replacement! There’s a full review here if you’ve not seen it before.
So here’s the second of my Kiehl’s empties this time around. I had such a fun time visiting the Covent Garden Branch with Nina Westbury and meeting the fabulous professionals who work there. I definitely recommend a visit when you’re in town. Anyway, to get to the point this is the Kiehl’s Creme De Corps Smoothing Oil-To-Foam Body Cleanser. This is a skin-smoothing cleansing oil that foams lightly and is so gentle. it’s enriched with castor oil and has a vanilla and almond fragrance. Heavenly!
This next is also a travel size that’s part of the Alpha H Essentials Holiday Collection it’s the Alpha H Essential Cleansing Balm. I love cleansing balm as my first cleanse and Alpha has produced this amazing version that’s infused with essential oils including sea buckthorn, rosehip and geranium. If you like multi tasking products this is for you as it combines the benefits of a cleanser, toner, makeup remover and balm to moisturise and hydrate as well as repairing and strengthening skin. This is another one I’m really missing.
So, I’ve been using up my mists recently (I use them as toner sprayed onto a cotton pad). There really was flurry of new launches this summer and this one came from Mavala as they launched their skin care range. (They’re most famous for their nail care.) You can read more about their transition and more of the range here. This is the Mavala Switzerland Skin Vitality Alpine Micro Mist It has a refreshing feel with a moisturising effect too. Ingredients include cornflower water and Swiss apricot extract and you can use it before make up or after as a setting spray.
I’ve said it before and I’m saying it again in case you ignored me in the past – you don’t need to spend a lot of money to get a good quality, effective product and the Simply Pure Hydrating Serum Superdrug is a great example of this theory. It works even for sensitive skin and contains Soothex to calm and a Ceramide blend to fortify. It’s really hydrating and helps to improve elasticity, smoothness and radiance. Of course you can spend more for bigger brands or fancier packaging but the point is you don’t need to. I’d recommend dropping one of these into your basket next time you’re ordering on-line.
As I’m working through writing this post I can see there’s been another theme aside from using up my mists and that’s been coming to the end of some great serums. The Bio Extracts Hydro Boost, Glow Boost & Firming Boost have been such a great discovery. They’re designed to be used in conjunction with a Bio-Extracts cream (they sell them in bundles to be helpful) and you can mix and match them to create a bespoke routine for your skin. I’ve been using them singly too and combined with other skin care brands and been delighted with their effectiveness. You can read much more about the brand and products in my review here.
This was the year that Caudalie celebrated 20 years of Caudalie Beauty Elixir with a limited edition bottle. As well as being beautiful on the outside this is a real multi-tasker as a makeup setting mist, a line smoother, a toner, and radiance booster all in one. Ingredients include rosemary, grapes, rose and myrrh. Here’s my full review if you want to read more.
So that’s my November empties done finally – it’s probably about time I was writing about Christmas but I’m not really one for doing what everyone expects me to do when they expect me to do it. I’ve only bought one Christmas present so far and my tree isn’t up yet. I figure there will be plenty of you in just the same space – and if you’re not then please don’t judge me!
Hope you’re enjoying your preparations for Christmas time, whatever your religion. Hopefully you’ll have some time to spend with friends and family or peacefully relaxing.
